As the name suggests, this design is all about the humble square—more specifically, the granny square. With granny squares making a strong comeback in fashion and home décor, their creative potential is truly endless.
I designed this quick and easy hanger to be a stylish and functional solution for a variety of spaces. You can use it to hang pot plants (real or artificial), or get creative like I did and use funky bowls or plates to craft a unique storage solution that doubles as an art piece. It’s perfect for small areas with limited bench or cupboard space.
These hangers look fantastic in both solid colours and multicolour designs. You can personalise them with beads, tassels, or any embellishments you like. They also make thoughtful handmade gifts for family and friends.

Yarn Needle

Yarn Requirements:
I prefer to use Cotton so that it holds its shape. I have used a 10ply cotton to get that chunkier and stronger finish. You will need approximately 85gms / 130m of 10ply (aran weight) yarn.
Skill Level: Beginner
Finished Size: Approximately 29cm unblocked when the square is laid flat.
