Hat Holster a Beaded Hat Hanger - Crochet Pattern US Terms

$5.00

Welcome to my Hat Holster Pattern!

I’ve designed this piece with a natural, earthy vibe—featuring timber beads to add a rustic touch. Of course, you can swap these for glass beads to match your own style or décor. The beauty of this design is how it effortlessly combines form and function.

Not only does it provide a clever way to store your hats without damaging their shape, but it also keeps them off benches and tables—freeing up space and turning your hats into a feature wall art piece! Whether hung in an entryway, laundry, mudroom, or bedroom, this holster adds personality and purpose to your space.

Make one for each member of the family in different colours so everyone knows which hat belongs where! You can easily adapt the pattern to make a single, double, or even multi-holster to suit your wall space and needs.

It also makes a unique and thoughtful handmade gift—especially for those hard-to-buy-for friends and family members.

I hope you enjoy making it as much as I enjoyed designing it. I’d absolutely love to see your creations—please share them on social media using the hashtag #livelovecrochetshaz.

Pattern Details

Skill Level: Beginner

Finished Size: Approx. 47cm long (not including tassels) x 10cm wide (unblocked, without hat) using 10ply yarn.

Tools Required

  • 4mm crochet hook for 8ply or 4.5mm for 10ply

  • Scissors

  • Yarn needle

  • Stitch markers

  • 50mm wooden Cabone ring (outer measurement)

  • 14–20 timber or glass beads (2–4mm hole) – adjust quantity depending on length and how many repeats you make

Yarn Recommendations

  • This pattern works well with anything from 5ply to 10ply.

  • For a natural, earthy finish, I used Fiddlesticks Finch 10ply cotton (71g / 109m) – its unmercerised texture pairs beautifully with timber beads.

  • I’ve also made a version using Fiddlesticks Wren 8ply with glass beads—just size down your hook and increase your repeats if using a lighter yarn.

📸 The pattern includes clear written instructions in English for US terms, plus plenty of helpful photos to guide you through each step.
